Only crews of the international standing started on the final section of "Novorossiysk - Rally Russia". They were going to struggle for many different medals - rally's and season's final results, one massive cup - the Cup of the Eastern Europe.

We expected Sunday to be warm like in summer and our expectations came true. Mild weather, clouded sky but without rain - such comfortable conditions were in the morning to finish the Eastern European Cup and the Russian Championship. Last rally hours are fading away.

Not everybody was able to come back and continue to fight with water after Section 1. When all the crews having stuck in front of water splash reached SS2 it turned out that Vadim Makarov and Gennadiy Broslavsky couldn't continue to compete - their engines were covered with water.

One more engine suffered from such water crossing - it was found in the Service park - that was the car of Patrik Flodin. The Russian Champion of 2009 will not start tomorrow. And it means that the silver medal of Championship - 2010 goes to Andrey Trukhin who even hasn't come to Novorossiysk. Can you do this - not to compete but get a medal! Flodin gained the 3d place of the Championship.

Probably everyone of you has seen such a scene: a respectable businessman, wearing an expensive suit and sitting at the polished table made of red wood, taking a golden pen is holding the talks. But you remember how the day before at the office party this serious man was dancing on the table without a button on his jacket and with salad in his hair... But it was yesterday. Today he is reserved and concentrated and you can't believe that all these incredible things happened in reality.

More or less the same feelings you have when you look out of the window today and the weather in Novorossiysk is like that gentleman...

It took so much time to arrange the ceremonial start! Every line of the script was under careful checking, the start scheme was accurately made with a separate area for the press where it would be comfortable to take pictures and shoot and with big areas on both sides of the road! It took so much effort to prepare the detailed information for the commentator to present every competitor, to tell about the competition mentioning the safe questions. It took so much creative work to prepare light, cars' order, start podium, producing video that was supposed to be shown on a big screen...
